Table for two?...

Do you ever just wish for a quiet dinner, just you and your special someone?

When our kids were little we would put them to bed early once per week, and we would have a date night at home.  But our kiddos are wise to us, now.  Now, they just sneak downstairs and try to steal our dessert. Hmmph!

However, I thought I would post a table for two table scape today.

I'll be linking up to between naps on the porch for Tablescape Thursday.  Hope you'll get a chance to stop by and see all the pretty ideas...

You are cordially invited
 for afternoon tea.

It's a special occasion
when it's just my friend and me.

You don't have to wear anything fancy.
You don't have to style your hair.

Just bring your friendship.
I'll meet you there.

First the table runner:  It's a mix of red and gold tapestry and silk with a
braided bouillon fringe.

Next the flower arrangement:  Just something I had in our bedroom -- but it looks so pretty when used on a table for two.

Vannila Sugar Cookie scented candles -- mmmm -- they smell so delicious!

Just love the woven straw chargers because they add another texture to the table -- and they provide contrast to the dark table and runner.

The dinner plate is red, the salad plate is green, the napkin is an antique,
and the little white bread plate -- well they are Crate and Barrel...
but I bought a set of 8 at Annie's for under $6.00

Because we'll be having coffee with dessert, I thought a Mimosa might be a nice treat...

Coffee always tastes so fresh when made in a French Press.

Hope you enjoyed your visit.  Stop by again any time!

Until then, Only by His Grace,

Billie

  1. So pretty Billie…..I love your arrangement of dishes and napkin placement with flatwear in a pretty design! That is why I enjoy blogs so much….I am always learning something new. I love the pillars and candlesticks. I have similiar ones . They were a Christmas gift from my husband. After looking over your other posts I found out you were an English major grad. So is my daughter! She started off as a viloinst but department dissolved. She loves Jane Austen as well. Beautiful table…….Do you have a Facebook for your blog, I would love to "like" it. Thanks again for sharing your home, Emelia DiCarlo.

  3. What a wonderful table. Your runner is so pretty, as are the flowers. I loved the whole composition. It would be a pleasure to dine at this table.

  4. Very nice colours, the red/green/white plates look great together! I'm on the hunt for some candlesticks like those - yours are lovely! A Mimosa sounds like a perfect addition to your tea/coffee party - Mmmm, refreshing!
